- Garden of the Gods: This iconic park is one of the most visited attractions in Colorado Springs, and for good reason. With towering sandstone formations, stunning views of Pikes Peak, and a variety of easy to moderate trails, it’s a great place for hikers of all levels. The Siamese Twins Trail and the Perkins Central Garden Trail are both popular routes, offering up-close views of the park’s famous rock formations. A “fourteener” (mountain above 14,000 feet high at the summit) right in our own backyard, the Barr Trail is the most popular route, spanning 13 miles and gaining over 7,800 feet in elevation. The trail is steep and strenuous, but the views at the top are worth it. On a clear day, you can see for miles in every direction. The ever popular Manitou Incline connects to Barr Trail, but is a strenuous hike that you will want to do on a separate day.
- Seven Falls: This series of cascading waterfalls is a sight to behold, and the hike to get there is equally impressive. The trail is just over a mile long, but it’s steep and rocky in places. Once you reach the falls, you can climb a set of stairs to the top for a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
